The app checks language readiness during onboarding, helps users download required language assets, and uses the audio output selected on the device, including speaker, Bluetooth, wired audio, earbuds, and headsets.
Voice preference sharing: each participant chooses the voice style others hear when translated speech plays back.
Replay and slower repeat: repeat translated speech when someone needs another pass.
History controls: conversation history is local and off by default.
Privacy Model
Nearby stays device-to-device. Worldwide uses an encrypted relay.
Connect Nearby does not send conversation content to Low Key Labs. Connect Worldwide uses a relay for room connection and message routing, but the app encrypts conversation payloads before they are sent.
