Service Summary
Low Key Translate helps people use their own iPhone or iPad for live translated one-to-one and group conversations. The app supports Connect Nearby for local peer-to-peer conversations and Connect Worldwide for internet relay rooms. Speech recognition, translation, and speech playback are performed on device when supported by the selected languages, installed language assets, device, and operating system.
Not a Certified Interpreter
Low Key Translate is not a certified interpreter, legal interpreter, medical interpreter, emergency service, or professional advice service. Do not rely on the app as the only communication method for emergencies, legal, medical, immigration, safety-critical, financial, or other high-stakes situations. Translation, transcription, and speech playback may be inaccurate, delayed, unavailable, or incomplete.
User Responsibilities
Users are responsible for choosing appropriate languages and voice settings, verifying important information outside the app, getting consent before recording, transcribing, translating, replaying, or saving conversation content where required by law, and keeping Connect Worldwide room codes private.
Do not use the app to harass, threaten, impersonate, commit fraud, violate privacy rights, bypass legal obligations, or interfere with the relay service.
Connect Nearby
Connect Nearby uses local peer-to-peer networking between devices. Conversation content is exchanged directly between participating devices. Low Key Labs LLC does not receive Connect Nearby conversation content through a relay server.
Connect Worldwide
Connect Worldwide uses a Low Key Labs LLC relay server to connect participants over the internet. The relay is designed to forward encrypted app messages between participants and is not designed to decrypt conversation payloads. The relay may process room codes, device identifiers, IP addresses, connection timestamps, short-lived public key-exchange frames, message size/count metadata, and operational counters needed to run and protect the service.
Subscriptions
Low Key Translate Pro is an auto-renewable monthly subscription purchased through Apple. The launch plan is 3-day free trial, then $4.99/month. The App Store shows final price, trial availability, and terms before purchase.
After the free trial, the subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to the user's Apple Account. The subscription can be managed or canceled in Apple Account subscription settings. Apple handles billing, refunds, grace period, billing retry, and cancellation flows according to Apple policies and App Store terms. Low Key Labs LLC does not receive full payment card details from Apple.
Availability and Changes
Low Key Labs LLC may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue features, relay service availability, language support, or subscription offerings. Local speech recognition and translation availability can change based on Apple frameworks, installed language assets, device model, region, operating system version, and selected language pair.
Privacy
Use of Low Key Translate is also governed by the Low Key Translate Privacy Policy.
Intellectual Property
The app, artwork, source code, documentation, branding, and service design are owned by Low Key Labs LLC or its licensors. Users receive a limited, non-transferable right to use the app according to these terms and Apple's App Store terms.
Disclaimers and Liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Low Key Labs LLC disclaims warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, and error-free translation or transcription.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Low Key Labs LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from inaccurate translation, missed speech, unavailable network service, relay downtime, language asset availability, user misuse, or reliance on the app in high-stakes situations.
